Basketball Recap: Bedford North Lawrence Comes Up Short

Bedford North Lawrence was the 52-47 winner over Fort Wayne Northrop when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Bedford North Lawrence Stars might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins an easy 60-37 victory. While losing is never fun, the Stars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 177th, while the Bruins are ranked 29th).

Bedford North Lawrence has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Fort Wayne Northrop, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

Bedford North Lawrence will be taking part in a tournament against Columbus North at 12:45 p.m. on Friday. Columbus North knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Bedford North Lawrence likes a good challenge. Fort Wayne Northrop will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against Pike at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th.
