Softball Recap: Mission Valley Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Mission Valley came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Osage City Indians by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-6. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by eight runs or more this season.

Josie Kraus was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Abby Sims was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mission Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mission Valley's win bumped their record up to 14-6. As for Osage City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mission Valley will face off against Olpe at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Osage City, they will challenge Humboldt at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
