Chase Rivera Has Career Rushing Day

Starting off the list is Peotone's Chase Rivera, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Rivera rushed for 300 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 117.1 rushing yards per game.

Peotone moved to 4-3 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. Rivera will have a chance to log another big game when he takes on Lisle on Friday.

Alek Draper Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, Herscher got the W thanks in part to Alek Draper playing the best football he has all season. Draper rushed for 278 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 52 receiving yards.

Herscher now has a winning record of 4-3. Draper and Herscher are taking a road trip to challenge Coal City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tucker Cain Makes It Two for Peotone

The second Peotone player making an appearance here is Tucker Cain, and for good reason. He rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Peotone is undefeated when Cain posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

For the year, Cain has run in 6 touchdowns while averaging 65.6 rushing yards per game.

Tanner Jones Makes It Two for Herscher

Another Herscher player making an appearance on this list is Tanner Jones. He rushed for 64 yards.

Lisle had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Jones it was a similar story. Jones threw for 230 yards and four touchdowns while completing 89.5% of his passes, and also rushed for 98 yards on only six carries the last time he and the Lions duked it out back in October of 2023.
