Soccer Game Preview: Cherokee vs. Southeast Whitfield County

The Cherokee Warriors are taking a road trip to square off against the Southeast Whitfield County Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherokee is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.6 goals per game this season.

Cherokee's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Friday. They skirted past Marietta 1-0. That's two games straight that Cherokee have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Megan Kalaher, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Southeast Whitfield County entered their tilt with Cedartown last Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Bulldogs 4-1. The result was nothing new for Southeast Whitfield County, who have now won four games by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Cherokee and bumps their season record up to 10-2. As for Southeast Whitfield County, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

Cherokee was able to grind out a solid victory over Southeast Whitfield County when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
