Volleyball Recap: Stuart W. Cramer Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Stuart W. Cramer was the 3-0 winner over Cherryville when they last played one another back in September of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Storm fell just short of the Ironmen by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. While the Storm didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Ironmen 25-18 in the first set.

Stuart W. Cramer started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 22-25, 27-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Sara Pawlish paced Stuart W. Cramer's offense, picking up 18 kills. Pawlish got some help from Avery Willer and her 37 assists. Pawlish was also solid from the service line: she led the team with seven aces.

Leading Cherryville to victory were Taylor Hudson and Kate Bookout. Hudson had ten digs and three aces, while Bookout had nine digs. That's the most aces Hudson has posted over her last six matches.

This is the second loss in a row for Stuart W. Cramer and nudges their season record down to 7-3. As for Cherryville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

Stuart W. Cramer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Forestview on the 10th. As for Cherryville, they will host Bessemer City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
