Softball Recap: Culver Community Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Culver Community can now relate to. They fell just short of the South Central Satellites by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Cavaliers in their meetings with the Satellites: they've now lost seven in a row.

Aiden Molebash spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Culver Community saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Kitts, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Gracie Milam, who earned one run and three stolen bases.

Culver Community's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for South Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5-1 record this season.

Culver Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Central, they will challenge North Judson-San Pierre at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
