Basketball Game Preview: Sebring Blue Streaks vs. Haines City Hornets

Sebring is 0-6 against Haines City since January of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Sebring Blue Streaks are taking a road trip to square off against the Haines City Hornets at 8:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

On Tuesday, Sebring didn't have too much trouble with Okeechobee as they won 34-18. Given the Blue Streaks' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Brahmans are ranked 471st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Haines City posted their closest win since January 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged Ocoee out 62-59.

Sebring better focus on containing Zebrielle Canaday and Delyana Morris as the pair were huge in Haines City's win. Canaday went 6 of 13 en route to 18 points and four steals, while Morris dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Canaday a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Soleil DeJesus, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Haines City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Haines City's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.7 points per game. As for Sebring, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.

Sebring was taken down by Haines City 65-36 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Thankfully for Sebring, Arissa Jenkins (who posted 31 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
