Game recap: Steele High School Football Team bests Carroll

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - the Knights scored 35 points in the first quarter to secure a big 38-0 victory over Carroll (Corpus Christi, Texas) on Saturday.

Steele scored on a Jaylen Harris touchdown run, a touchdown pass by Breylann McCollum to Kenny Wise, a touchdown run by Justin Stockton, a McCollum touchdown pass to Matthew Mayle and a touchdown pass by McCollum to Mayle in the quarter.

SHS was up 35-0 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Harris in the first quarter.

With the win the Cibolo school extended its winning streak to nine games. The Knights defeated the Hornets 28-0 last week.

McCollum was the top performer for Steele. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns.



SHS went into the matchup giving up only 13.9 points per game.

Carroll (0-9) will play a 5A Region IV District 28 game against South San Antonio next week, while Steele (9-0) will take on Southwest also in a 5A Region IV District 28 game.
