Notre Dame proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Steinert Spartans 4-3. That's more bragging rights for the Irish, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Josh Klena tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Notre Dame's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Cutrupi, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Notre Dame is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Steinert, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Notre Dame will challenge Allentown at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Steinert, they will square off against Trenton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
