Baseball Game Preview: Suwannee Bulldogs vs. St. Johns Country Day Spartans

The Suwannee Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the St. Johns Country Day Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Suwannee's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so St. Johns Country Day's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Suwannee's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against St. John Paul II as Suwannee made off with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Grayson Greene tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out nine over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Colton Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. W. Grayson Bonds also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Suwannee hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, St. Johns Country Day entered their tilt with Middleburg on Tuesday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 7-2.

Ethan Bissell looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hits in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, TJ Sunderhaus was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Chandler Dantzler, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Suwannee's record now sits at 4-2. As for St. Johns Country Day, their record is now an identical 4-2.
