Football Recap: Southlake Carroll Starts Season with Victory Against Midland

Southlake Carroll had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Midland Bulldogs 49-0. The Dragons pushed the score to 42-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs had no chance of recovering from.

Southlake Carroll got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brooks Biggers out in front who rushed for 103 yards and two TDs. Another signal caller making a difference was Angelo Renda, who threw for 248 yards and three touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Southlake Carroll was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southlake Carroll will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Hebron at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 940 yards in their previous games. As for Midland, they will be playing at home against Pebble Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
