Softball Game Preview: Fallston Cougars vs. Bel Air Bobcats

The Fallston Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Bel Air Bobcats at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Fallston's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Bel Air's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

It was a proper cat-fight when Fallston duked it out with Rising Sun on Wednesday. The Cougars fell 4-1 to the Tigers. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Fallston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mary Pfaff, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Bel Air nor Perry Hall made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bobcats put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 7-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Gators: they've now won four in a row.

The victory got Bel Air back to even at 4-4. As for Fallston, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.

Everything went Fallston's way against Bel Air in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Fallston made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
