The Smoky Mountain Mustangs will venture away from home to take on the North Henderson Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Smoky Mountain is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

While Smoky Mountain didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their defense stepped up to hand Pisgah a 3-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Mustangs have beaten the Bears the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Bears has come to flipping the script.

Smoky Mountain hit Pisgah with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Angela Gonzalez, Lola Craft, and Melanie Pineda.

Meanwhile, North Henderson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 4-0 to Polk County.

Smoky Mountain pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those four contests. As for North Henderson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Smoky Mountain suffered a grim 4-1 defeat to North Henderson when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Smoky Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
