Softball Recap: West Hills Takes Down Escondido Charter in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but West Hills had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Escondido Charter Tigers, sneaking past 7-6. The win was familiar territory for the Wolf Pack, who have now won four contests in a row.

Kristina Deal was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Maddie Aylesbury was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: West Hills lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March.

West Hills' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-9-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Escondido Charter, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-5.

As of now, neither West Hills nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
