Basketball Game Preview: Gillespie Miners vs. Nokomis Redskins

Gillespie is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Nokomis is on a eight-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Gillespie Miners will host the Nokomis Redskins at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are at an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2017, but likely not for long.

Gillespie's tournament run continued when they took on Nokomis on Saturday. Gillespie fell to Nokomis 47-43.

Gillespie better focus on containing Natalie Brownback and Kinley Stolte as the pair were huge in Nokomis' win. Brownback posted 13 points and four steals, while Stolte almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hannah Tarter, who earned seven points.

Gillespie's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Nokomis, their win bumped their record up to 13-2.
