Basketball Recap: Kern Valley's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road + How To Watch

Kern Valley lost to Arvin back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Broncs managed a 44-38 win over the Bears. While the Broncs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-16), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Shiloh Galvan was the offensive standout of the game as he went 7-for-14 en route to 17 points. Aiden Madden was another key player, shooting 63% from the field on his way to 11 points and three steals.

Kern Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.2 assists per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.2.

When it comes to explaining why Arvin lost, don't look at Xzavier Brooks. Despite the final result, he went 7-for-14 to rack up 15 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Aziz Ochoa, who posted seven points and four steals.

Kern Valley's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-3. As for Arvin, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record.

Coming up, Kern Valley will be home for the holidays to greet Mammoth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Arvin, they will take on Caruthers in a tournament on Friday.
