Softball Recap: Bishop Conaty-Loretto Comes Up Short

Bishop Conaty-Loretto lost against St. Monica back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 24-7 to the Mariners.

Bishop Conaty-Loretto saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaslyn Sigaran, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that Sigaran launched this season. Angelique Aguillon was another, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Bishop Conaty-Loretto's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for St. Monica, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Conaty-Loretto will square off against Serra at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 22.43 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for St. Monica, they will take on Ramona Convent at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Mariners surely won't give up without a fight.
