Soccer Recap: Aurora Takes a Loss

While it was all tied up 1-1 at halftime, Aurora was not quite Crete's equal in the second half on Thursday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 5-2. Aurora were not able to make up for their defeat to Crete from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Aurora and nudges their season record down to 1-4. As for Crete, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Aurora will face off against rival Nebraska City on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Crete is set to challenge their familiar foe Lexington at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.
