Montezuma-Cortez's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Whited, who scored 12 points. Savannah Haselroth was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Monument Valley's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Montezuma-Cortez, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Monument Valley is on the road again on Friday and play against Shiprock at 5:30 p.m. on December 1st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Shiprock is ranked 20th in New Mexico, while Monument Valley is ranked 32nd in Utah). As for Montezuma-Cortez, they will take on Varsity Opponent at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.
