Castle is a perfect 10-0 against Evansville Memorial since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Knights will take on the Tigers at 5:00 p.m.

Castle came up short against Jasper on Saturday, falling 10-4.

Maddie Rose made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Bruggenschmidt, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs.

Meanwhile, Evansville Memorial waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They came out on top against the Huskies by a score of 4-1.

Brianna Canaan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Evansville Memorial saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Annie Blackburn, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Castle has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Evansville Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 9-5.

Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Castle hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Evansville Memorial struggles in that department as they've averaged .430. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Castle came out on top in a nail-biter against Evansville Memorial in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
