Bluffton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Shenandoah Raiders 29-27.

Bluffton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Streveler, who picked up 93 receiving yards and two scores.
