Football Recap: Bluffton Starts off Right with Win over Shenandoah

Bluffton had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Shenandoah Raiders 29-27.

Bluffton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Streveler, who picked up 93 receiving yards and two scores. That's the most receiving yards Streveler has posted since back in September of 2024. Another receiver making a difference was Elijah Bertsch, who picked up 106 receiving yards and one TD.

When it comes to explaining why Shenandoah lost on Friday, don't look at Jarrett Helman. Despite the final result, he threw for 252 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 75 yards and one score. The Raiders' leading receiver Blayne Stevens was Helman's top target yet again, picking up 83 receiving yards and one TD.

Looking ahead, Bluffton will square off against Manchester at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Shenandoah, they will take on South Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
