Basketball Recap: Hanahan Takes a Loss

Hanahan lost against Bishop England back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hanahan Hawks were dealt a 63-33 defeat at the hands of the Bishop England Battling Bishops. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Hanahan saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Wyatt Muirheid posted 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for Muirheid. Quamel Grant was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Hanahan was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Hanahan's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Bishop England, they moved to 7-8 with that win, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Hanahan will head out to face off against Georgetown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop England, they and Wando will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
