Baseball Recap: Brandywine Takes a Loss

After flying high against South Bend Riley on Saturday, Brandywine came back down to earth. The Bobcats fell just short of the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies by a score of 10-9 on Wednesday.

Brandywine's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 22-5-2. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brandywine will head out to challenge Edwardsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bobcats 2.2, the Eddies 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, they will venture away from home to take on Concord at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Minutemen's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Huskies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
