Volleyball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Coastal Christian's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Coastal Christian can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the California Academy of Math & Science Coyotes on Wednesday. The Conquerors' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 17-25, 25-19, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Coastal Christian saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kaitlyn Starkovich had 18 digs and one assist. Those 18 digs set a new season-high mark for Starkovich. Montana Fischer also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Coastal Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 25-8. As for California Academy of Math & Science, they pushed their record up to 22-11 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home.

As of now, neither Coastal Christian nor the Coyotes have any future games scheduled.
