Volleyball Recap: Calvary Extends Winning Streak to Six

Calvary had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Pawnee Indians. The Saints have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Indians, too.

Calvary had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-17, 25-10.

Ainsley Johnson paced Calvary's offense, picking up 21 kills. Johnson got some help from Sophia McQuillan and her 14 assists. McQuillan was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Calvary's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Pawnee, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-7 record this season.

Calvary will be playing at home against Edinburg at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pawnee, they will be taking part in a tournament against Hillsboro at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
