Mayfield is 9-1 against St. Mary since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Mayfield Cardinals will host the St. Mary Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Mayfield has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Mayfield took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 51-20 victory over Christian Fellowship. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, St. Mary hadn't done well against Ballard Memorial recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. St. Mary came out on top in a nail-biter against Ballard Memorial, sneaking past 38-35. While the Vikings didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

St. Mary's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.8 points per game. As for Mayfield, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Everything went Mayfield's way against St. Mary in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as Mayfield made off with a 58-32 win. Does Mayfield have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Mary turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
