Preview: Argonaut Mustangs vs. Amador Buffaloes
The Argonaut Mustangs have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome the Amador Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, Argonaut was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 26-21 to Calaveras.
Argonaut's loss came about despite a quality game from Seth Mitchell, who rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Mitchell was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 66 yards.
Meanwhile, Amador's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Sonora, falling 55-6. Amador was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-0.
Argonaut has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for Amador, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 4-5.
Argonaut skirted past Amador 2-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Argonaut repeat their success, or does Amador have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
