Basketball Recap: Dover Comes Up Short

Dover fought the good fight in their overtime game against Polytech on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 48-47 to the Polytech Panthers. The Senators just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Polytech was led to victory by Sierra Henry and Saniya Skinner. Henry posted 23 points along with six steals and five rebounds, while Skinner put up 14 points and eight steals. Henry is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Marie Cadet, who scored three points and 11 boards.

Dover's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Polytech, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dover will welcome Cape Henlopen at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cape Henlopen is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season. Polytech has already played their next contest (against Sussex Tech), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
