Basketball Recap: Manteca Takes a Loss

Manteca lost against Central Catholic back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Manteca Buffaloes took a 55-37 bruising from the Central Catholic Raiders. The Buffaloes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Central Catholic was led to victory by Amari Waterford and Jordan Magana. Waterford went 10-for-15 to rack up 22 points and three steals, while Magana went 9-for-19 en route to 23 points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Mcgee, who posted five points and six rebounds.

Manteca's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Central Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manteca will challenge East Union at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Catholic, they will face off against Sierra at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central Catholic is facing Sierra at the right time seeing as Sierra is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
