Softball Recap: Mount Dora Comes Up Short

The Mount Dora Canes didn't have quite enough to beat the Windermere Wolverines on Monday and fell 7-6. The Canes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kaleigh Casey was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave her a new career-low. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Skylar Colas was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Mount Dora's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Windermere, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-10 record.

Mount Dora didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 5-0 loss against Apopka on the 7th. As for Windermere, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Orange at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
