Baseball Game Preview: Amelia Academy Patriots vs. Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights

Amelia Academy is 8-2 against Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Amelia Academy Patriots will face off against the Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot Knights at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Amelia Academy is leaving town to face Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Amelia Academy took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southampton Academy on Tuesday.

Amelia Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Creswell, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. The dominant performance gave Creswell a new career-high in RBI. Another was Amir Hall, who scored a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 14-4 to Kenston Forest.

Amelia Academy skirted past Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot 3-2 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Amelia Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
