Basketball Game Preview: Hawley Nuggets vs. Perham Yellowjackets

The Hawley Nuggets are taking a road trip to challenge the Perham Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Last Tuesday, Hawley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 60-54 to Staples-Motley. The Nuggets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Perham, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They snuck past Breckenridge with a 69-64 win on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Yellowjackets as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Hawley's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-11. As for Perham, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.

Hawley didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Perham in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hawley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
