Baseball Recap: Charles City Takes a Loss

Charles City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 16-2 to the Middlesex Chargers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Chargers this season, with their most recent loss being a 16-2 defeat on Monday.

Sherod Barnes was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Cash, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Charles City's record now sits at 2-14. As for Middlesex, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Charles City will face off against West Point at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Middlesex does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
