Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Western Tech & Environmental Science's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Western Tech & Environmental Science rose to the challenge on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Forest Park Foresters as they made off with an 18-3 victory. Considering the Wolverines have won ten matches by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Western Tech & Environmental Science got a massive performance out of Bailey Allen, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Allen a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Averie Talley, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Western Tech & Environmental Science was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in eight consecutive contests.

Western Tech & Environmental Science is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.9 runs over those games. As for Forest Park, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
