Preview: Silver Creek Dragons vs. Corydon Central Panthers
Silver Creek is 9-1 against Corydon Central since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Silver Creek Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Corydon Central Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Silver Creek is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Friday, Silver Creek came up short against Scottsburg and fell 59-49. Silver Creek has not had much luck with Scottsburg recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Silver Creek saw an underclassman step up: Dane Sprigler went 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists. Walker Hoffman was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Corydon Central proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 20) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 win over Eastern. The win was nothing new for Corydon Central as they're now sitting on three straight.
Silver Creek's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Corydon Central, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Silver Creek couldn't quite finish off Corydon Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 69-66. Thankfully for Silver Creek, Tyler Fessel (who scored 28 points along with six rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
