Volleyball Recap: West Valley Mustangs vs. San Jacinto Tigers
West Valley had taken San Jacinto down for four straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 2-1. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
West Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-12, 15-8.
Kamryn Hubbell paced West Valley's offense, picking up five kills. Hubbell got some help from Te'Avi Pauga and her eight assists. Kiya Bonney controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
West Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
West Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Liberty on the 9th. As for San Jacinto, they will venture away from home to take on Heritage at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
