Softball Recap: Miller Falcons vs. Millersport Lakers

Miller extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 3-11 in the process. They lost 27-0 to the Millersport Lakers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-3 back in April.

As for Millersport, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-6. Considering they have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Millersport's part, Kendyl Bonkowski made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over 4.2 innings pitched. Bonkowski has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases and four runs.

In other batting news, Millersport got a massive performance out of Scarlet Sheets, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Sheets continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ginny Worstall, who went 1-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple.
