Preview: Steubenville Big Red vs. Brooke Bruins
Steubenville has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will square off against the Brooke Bruins at 7:15 p.m. Hopefully Steubenville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Saturday.
Steubenville pushed their score all the way to 59, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Liverpool. Even though they lost, Steubenville's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 51 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Je'mier Faulks, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Santino Haney, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, even though Oak Glen scored an imposing 62 points on Friday, Brooke still came out on top. The stars were shining brightly for Brooke in a 79-62 win over Oak Glen.
Steubenville now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Brooke, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Steubenville came up short against Brooke when the teams last played back in January, falling 65-53. Can Steubenville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
