Recap: Great Bend Panthers vs. Salina Central Mustangs
The Great Bend Panthers entered their tilt with the Salina Central Mustangs with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Great Bend strolled past Salina Central with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 38-24. That's two games straight that Great Bend has won by exactly 14 points.
Daxton Minton was his usual excellent self, rushing for 96 yards on only nine carries, while also throwing for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Cooper Ohnmacht got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Salina Central still got an impressive performance from Elijah Wilson, who rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns. Jack Gordon was another key contributor, throwing for 218 yards and two touchdowns.
Great Bend has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Salina Central, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 6-3.
Great Bend will face off against Kapaun Mt. Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Kapaun Mt. Carmel has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 448 points over their last nine contests. Salina Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
