Palmyra-Eagle came out on top against Fall River on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Panthers took their match against the Pirates 9-4. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won eight in a row.

Ryan Brodzik was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, D Walsh was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Dillen Patrick was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

Palmyra-Eagle's win bumped their record up to 15-6. As for Fall River, with the loss, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Palmyra-Eagle will challenge Johnson Creek at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fall River, they will square off against Montello at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
