Baseball Recap: Rockwall Comes Up Short

Rockwall was the 14-3 winner over San Marcos when they last played one another back in March of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. The Yellowjackets fell 11-7 to the Rattlers on Saturday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Yellowjackets, who until this contest were averaging four runs allowed.

Hudson Holt was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.

Rockwall's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-1. As for San Marcos, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Rockwall is on the road again on Saturday to play Dripping Springs at 11:30 a.m. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Yellowjackets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for San Marcos, they will head out to square off against Westlake at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
