Baseball Game Preview: Brandywine Bobcats vs. Edwardsburg Eddies

Brandywine is 0-6 against Edwardsburg since April of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Bobcats will face off against the Eddies at 5:00 p.m. Brandywine's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Edwardsburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Wednesday, Brandywine didn't have quite enough to beat South Bend Saint Joseph and fell 10-9.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Edwardsburg and Vicksburg, and Vicksburg kept the tradition alive. The Eddies took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Eddies in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost six in a row.

Edwardsburg saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Connor Fischer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Another was Maddux Salvagni, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Brandywine's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 22-5-2. As for Edwardsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 19-6.

Brandywine couldn't quite finish off Edwardsburg when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 4-2. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
