Basketball Recap: Elkins Comes Up Short

Elkins has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-43 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hackett Hornets. The game marked the Elks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Elkins' loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Hackett, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkins will face off against Berryville at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Elkins is facing Berryville at the right time seeing as Berryville is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Hackett, they will challenge Lavaca at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Hackett has won five straight at home, while Lavaca won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
