Basketball Recap: Helix Victorious

Helix saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 60-47 victory over the Sage Creek Bobcats.

Helix found their leader in sophomore Trey Cavazos, who went 12-for-20 en route to 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cavazos has scored all season. Jason Black was another key player, putting up 11 points and four steals.

Helix was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sage Creek only racked up four.

When it comes to explaining why Sage Creek lost, don't look at Vaughn Young. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Josh Liguori, who scored four points and six rebounds.

Helix now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Sage Creek, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Helix didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 51-35 win against Mt. Carmel on the 5th. As for Sage Creek, they have also already played their next contest, a 61-30 victory against Steele Canyon on the 1st.
