Basketball Recap: Cedar Hill Longhorns vs. Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes
Cedar Hill lost against Duncanville back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cedar Hill Longhorns took a 77-60 bruising from the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Panthers and Pantherettes are ranked 27th).
Kayden Edwards was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 15 en route to 29 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals for Duncanville. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Jones, who posted 13 points.
Cedar Hill has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-11 record this season. As for Duncanville, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Hill will welcome Skyline at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Cedar Hill is facing Skyline at the right time seeing as Skyline is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Duncanville, they will be playing at home against Waxahachie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Waxahachie is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65 points per game this season.
