Baseball Game Preview: McKinley Bulldogs vs. Canton South Wildcats

The McKinley Bulldogs will square off against the Canton South Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

McKinley took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Lake 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since April 5th.

Meanwhile, Canton South can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fairless, sneaking past 5-4.

McKinley pushed their record up to 11-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Canton South, their win bumped their record up to 3-12.

McKinley couldn't quite finish off Canton South in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
