Recap: South Cobb Eagles vs. Marist War Eagles
The South Cobb Eagles struggled with offensive rebounds on Friday (the Marist War Eagles had ten more) and sadly the final score reflected it. South Cobb fell 51-40 to the War Eagles. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points South Cobb has scored all season.
Despite the loss, South Cobb still got an impressive performance from Rajah Morgan, who scored 19 points. Morgan has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Devin Wicker, who scored six points along with six blocks.
Marist's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Owen Ritger, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds. Trace Gaynes was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
South Cobb has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Marist, they pushed their record up to 13-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Cobb will take on the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marist, they will play host again and welcome the Wildcats, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
