West Davidson has gone a perfect 10-0 against Salisbury recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. West Davidson will head out to take on Salisbury at 5:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
Last Friday, West Davidson got the win against Lexington by a conclusive 19-1. Considering the Dragons have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Mahala Darnell made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Darnell was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, West Davidson let Meghan Leonard and Maci Harris run wild. Leonard scored three runs and stole five bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Harris went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Harris a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Summer Fire, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
West Davidson lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more home runs.
Meanwhile, Salisbury took on Lexington. in a bug-themed battle on Tuesday. Salisbury's pitcher stepped up to hand Lexington a 17-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won five games by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Ashley Yang was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.
In other batting news, Addisyn Myers was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That home run was her first of the season. Allison Peeler was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.
The win got West Davidson back to even at 5-5. As for Salisbury, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Salisbury's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: West Davidson has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. It's a different story for Salisbury, though, as they've been averaging 8.9 hits. Given West Davidson's sizable advantage in that area, Salisbury will need to find a way to close that gap.
