Genoa-Hugo/Karval scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Fleming Wildcats by a score of 49-47. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kazlei Vaughn, who posted ten points along with six steals and five assists. The dominant performance gave Vaughn a new career-high in steals. Rylee Corn was another key player, going 6 for 12 on her way to 14 points and eight rebounds.

Ashley Bornhoft had an outrageously good game for Fleming as she dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Schaefer, who put up eight points and nine steals.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Fleming, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Genoa-Hugo/Karval will challenge Bethune at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Fleming, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 54-39 defeat against Stratton on the 30th.
