It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but St. Paul ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Paraclete Spirits, sneaking past 2-1. The victory was nothing new for the Swordsmen as they're now sitting on three straight.

Jonathan Salazar and Matthew Almaraz scored both of St. Paul's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 17 goals.

St. Paul's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8-1. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for Paraclete, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5-1.

St. Paul will face off against Bishop Montgomery at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Paul's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Paraclete has already played their next matchup, a 1-1 draw against St. Genevieve on the 25th.
